Delete your account
You can do this yourself, from inside the app, without asking anyone.
In the app
- Open More, then choose Account.
- Choose Delete account.
- Read the two lists on the screen: what is deleted, and what is kept and for how long.
- If you want a copy of your records, choose Export my data first. The download link expires after an hour, so save the file somewhere.
- Type DELETE in the box.
- Confirm. The button stays off until the box reads DELETE.
If you are using Sipru as a client, open the Account tab and choose Account from there; the steps after that are the same. If you signed in with Apple, the app may ask you to sign in with Apple again first, so that its access can be revoked.
It happens immediately and cannot be undone.
What is deleted
- Your login and your profile, including your name, language and accessibility settings.
- Any export file that was prepared for you.
- Your membership of every workspace.
- Your client account: your client profile, your links to the professionals you work with, your requests for a specialist, the invite links you made, and the messages you wrote as a client. Document links that were made for your e-mail address stop working.
- Every workspace you own, even if other people are members of it: its clients and their contacts, leads, quotes, price list, projects with their tasks, questionnaires, messages and delivery links, draft invoices, contracts that were never signed, client page links, invitations and templates. Its members lose those records.
- Every PDF file drawn from the workspaces you owned (quotes, drafts, contracts that were never signed), except the PDF copies of the invoices and signed contracts that are kept (see below).
The point about workspaces is blunt on purpose. Sipru currently has no way to hand a workspace to someone else: the person who creates it is its only owner, and everyone invited joins as a member. So deleting your account deletes the workspaces you made, and the people you invited lose the records in them.
If other people rely on a workspace you created, export the data first and tell them before you delete.
What is kept
- Invoices that were issued and contracts that were signed, with the project and client records they belong to, for the legal retention period of six years. On the client record itself the e-mail address, phone number, notes and custom fields are cleared, and the project's contacts, venue and time notes are cleared; the client's name stays, because the invoice names them. The signed contract is kept whole, with its text and its signature record: the signer's name and e-mail, the time, the IP address, the browser details and the consent they were shown.
- The workspace itself, for every workspace that is erased, whether or not any records were kept in it: its name and settings stay, closed. Nothing else of it stays except the records above.
- An audit record of significant actions, so that changes to accounts and workspaces stay accountable afterwards. It is kept for six years.
- Workspaces that someone else created and invited you into. Only your membership of them ends; their records are untouched.
- Invitations that were already accepted or revoked remain in the record as history.
- The PDF copies of those kept invoices and signed contracts, for the same period.
- Anything you exported and saved elsewhere is yours and outside our reach.
The scheduled job that erases the six-year records once the six years are over is not built yet. Until it is, they are not removed automatically.
If you cannot get into the app
Email [email protected] from the address the account uses and ask for it to be deleted. You will be asked to confirm before anything happens. This page is also available at sipru.co.uk/account/delete.
